Sunday Services 8:15am & 10:30am

Who are we?

Bethlehem Baptist Church is located in Cunningham, KY, but our community expands to Ballard, Hickman, Graves, and McCracken counties. Years ago, we narrowed our ministry focus to four Purpose Statements to describe our mission as a church:
Everything begins and ends with our love for our Savior Jesus Christ, who loved us so much that He died, so we could have a relationship with God, our creator.
Some may say they don’t need the church, but Scripture shows that Jesus saw the need for community as we live out life.
We love Jesus. He loves us and all people. Therefore we love people and work together to serve a variety of needs that pop up.

In the book of Matthew, there’s a section titled “The Great Commission”. We take Jesus’s words seriously, knowing that we have a responsibility to share God’s love with our neighbors and the world.

What to Expect:

It can be a little intimidating coming into a new space where maybe you know a few people or no one at all. But, all we’re asking is for you to come visit, nothing more. We promise more than one smiling face will greet you!

Sunday mornings we have two different services (8:15am and 10:30am). There’s no difference between them, we just ran out of space for everyone to be together in one room.

The Music

Our services are a modern mix of contemporary worship music and hymns. We don’t focus as much on the “style” of music, (though we personally think our band is pretty amazing!) but we focus more on whether or not we’re singing things that line up with the truth we see in the Bible.

The Preaching

Throughout the service we read different scripture, but then we have a time of teaching through a passage of the Bible. We take an approach called expository preaching. That’s just a fancy name for preaching through the Bible, verse by verse. Our pastors believe in allowing Scripture to dictate the lessons we learn every given Sunday. Sure, we still do a little topical preaching a few times a year, but most Sundays we’re going verse by verse through an entire book of the Bible. Yep, that means we spent years (not exaggerating), in the Gospel of John and the book of Acts. Every word of the Bible has purpose, which means sometimes we preach on some passages you may have never heard preached before (just check out our Genesis series for a few examples).
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."
-- 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Small Groups

In between services, we have a light breakfast around 9:20 and then we break out for Sunday School. This time allows us to explore scripture, ask questions and build community with a small group of people. You can try out a variety of classes to see which you like best.
